Clarens South Africa [02:29]
The village of Clarens is situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in close proximity to the Golden Gate National Park and the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. Clarens is an Artists haven with many well known artists either living in or frequenting the village on a regular basis with many art galleries scattered around the village square. The tranquil village ambience combined with scenic views and a mild climate makes for the ideal weekend getaway for city dwellers from Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Durban. These cities are all approximately 300km from Clarens or a comfortable 3 to 4 hours drive away. The village has become know as the "Jewel of the Free State" - rich in beauty, with an aura of peace and tranquillity. Clarens is endowed with more trees than most other Free State towns - the fresh, light green willows and colourful blossoms of the many fruit trees are an unforgettable sight in spring time; whilst the magnificent autumn shades of the lombard poplars attract artists, photographers and nature lovers. The town is known for the many Art and Craft shops which offer the visitor a wide range of curios and original artwork. Another feature which adds to the picturesque atmosphere of the village is the many sandstone buildings. The popular Golden Gate National Park is located in the near vicinity of Clarens, and the area attracts many visitors. Courtesy of Clarens Tourism

Rock Art - Drakensberg - South Africa [02:38]
The Drakensberg Experience is centred on the Drakensberg World Heritage Site, which includes Giant's Castle and the Central and Northern Drakensberg. Known to the Zulu people as uKhahlamba ('barrier of spears'), the Drakensberg mountains ('dragon mountains') provide a magnificent semi-circular border between KwaZulu-Natal and the inland mountain kingdom of Lesotho. This 200km-long mountain range has witnessed many historical events in South Africa's history. The San people were probably the first to gaze upon its magnificence, but they tragically disappeared in the late 19th century, leaving only engraved rock walls and artefacts to remember them by. The same range was also the western boundary of the mighty Zulu kingdom, encountered by the Boer settlers around 1837 on their Great Trek north from the Cape Colony.

Black Rhino - Kwandwe Private Game Reserve - South Africa [00:21]
We got charged by this black rhino as we were on a game drive at Kwandwe. He came from behind some trees and I think we were as surprised by him as he was...After he charged towards us he ran off. Our ranger then stopped, turned the car off and let the rhino walk back up to us. We didn't capture the charge but this is when he walked back up to us.
