Simon's Town and the African Penguins [01:11]
Simon's Town (Simonstown) with its pretty Victorian houses and the harbour. On the Cape Peninsula near Cape Town, South Africa. A boardwalk leads along the beach to the town's greatest attraction - the penguin colony at Foxy Beach and Boulders Beach. Once threatened by extinction, there are nowadays 3000 breeding pairs of African Penguins living and nesting here. The Beach is protected by huge round granite boulders. Seamed by Milkwood thicket, providing the penguins with an ideal breeding habitat. Swimming is allowed at Boulders Beach. Sometimes people and penguins can be seen together in the clear shallow water.

Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands [01:15]
Stellenbosch - the oldest and most beautiful town in the Winelands. On a stroll through the town centre, the visitor is impressed with the many well-maintained Cape Dutch buildings from the founding times of the Cape Colony. At the Dorp Museum one can visit Cape Dutch houses from different eras. The town is prouf of its university. It was founded in 1887 and is respected as one of the best universities in South Africa. In the surroundings of Stellenbosch, quite a few famous wine estate are situated. Always worth a visit is Boschendal, one of the oldest Wine Estate in the country. Boschendal also runs an excellent restaurant. On the weekends people get together for lunch in the garden under the shady old oak trees.
