Hermanus - Historical Fishing Village

A town that has managed to hold onto its heritage and still be described as cosmopolitan is very rare. Somehow, Hermanus has been able to retain the atmosphere of being a historical fishing village through its unique stores and craft markets, while developing a vibrant energy that attracts hundreds of youthful visitors each year. Hermanus is a destination in the Western Cape that accommodates everyone; from those seeking a relaxing breather from their daily lives, to adventurous explorers.

With the Fernkloof Nature Reserve on its doorstep, Hermanus offers visitors picturesque nature hikes and bird watching, and its clean beaches allow visitors to sunbathe peacefully with the waves lapping at their feet. Whale watching from June to December is a huge attraction, as is kayaking and shark cage diving. Other attractions to look forward to include the Old Harbour Museum, De Wet’s Photo Museum, cruises, golf, horse riding, diving, paintball, 4x4 routes and quad bike excursions. Hermanus is a diverse destination that visitors to South Africa should not miss out on.
