Langebaan - Picturesque Town

Along the West Coast of South Afric, travelers will find the picturesque town of Langebaan approximately 120km outside of Cape Town. The peaceful atmosphere of this breathtaking coastal destination and its ideal facilities for a relaxing vacation make it irresistible to both locals and international tourists. Originally founded as a whaling station in 1922, Langebaan has developed into a popular holiday destination and hub for nature enthusiasts. The sparkling waters of the ocean lure water sports enthusiasts who come to Langebaan to enjoy a good day of frolicking in the waves followed by a tasty Langebaan tradition, a fish braai.

The Langebaan lagoon is a major attraction for many, as it home to Southern Right Whales that migrate here annually to calve. Other nature attractions include the Elandsfontein Private Nature Reserve, the West Coast National Park and the West Coast Fossil Park. Visitors are also invited to explore the numerous interesting shops and stores in town, such as the Potters Hill Pottery Gallery and Lagoon Shell Craft. For more exciting activities, head towards the beach and join in the fun by trying out a little kayaking, ski surfing and windsurfing, or arrange a fishing trip with one of the tour operators. Langebaan is the perfect destination to escape city life; to enjoy nature and find the time to rejuvenate.
