Worcester - Home to Literary, Music and Art Legends

It is where popular literary, music and art legends in South Africa once stayed; inspiring the likes of Nobel Prize Winner, J.M. Coetzee, singer David Kramer and C. Louis Leipoldt. Today, this magnificent town, in the Breede River Valley, still inspires and leaves visitors breathless, as the beauty, creativity and peacefulness of Worcester mesmerizes all who pass through. Visitors should, however, not underestimate the quaint town, as it has many attractions and activities for all to enjoy.

Exploring the Breede River Valley can be an extremely rewarding experience, as is a visit to the Karoo National Botanical Garden and the Kleinplasie Living Open Air Museum. Worcester is surrounded by vineyards which have made the town famous for its wine industry, with the brandy industry close on its heels. Visitors are therefore invited to explore the Brandy Route and the Nuy Wine Cellar to discover the charm of these industries. To get a bird’s eye view of Worcester and surrounding area, visitors can inquire about glider flying. And if all the activities get too much, comfortable accommodation and top class restaurants are waiting in town to provide visitors with exclusive facilities and services.
