The course is set amidst the natural environment and so it provides an excellent golfing experience combined with stunning natural flora. And, since the course stretches over more than 7000 meters, it has the distinction of being one of the world’s longest golf courses.

The Gary Player Country Club golf course features 18 different holes which are all classified and difficult. The course has a Par 72 rating and there are plenty of bunkers and water hazards to keep you challenged. The ninth hole is par five and it ends with an island green for added difficulty. The Cabanas are the cheapest option and are perfect for families on a budget while the Sun City Hotel offers a slightly higher standard of accommodation. The Cascades is generally enjoyed by newly weds or old romantics while the Palace of the Lost City offers luxury in abundance. There are a wide variety of restaurants and take-a-ways available at Sun City and the Gary Player Country Club offers refreshment in the form of a restaurant and a bar.

The Gary Player Country Club regularly hosts the annual ‘Million Dollar Challenge’ which is played during the hottest months and sponsored by Nedbank. Sun City also offers a casino, water world, cinemas, variety shows and sporting facilities so you can leave non-golfing family members behind to enjoy themselves while you go out and play golf. The resort and entertainment complex also offers day-trips to the nearby Pilansberg Game Reserve so you can enjoy the wonders of the African bushveld while you are visiting. Sun City is situated roughly 150 kilometers from Johannesburg and can be easily reached by car. Come and enjoy this stunning golfing experience.
