Céline Marie Claudette Dion was born into a large family on 30th March 1968 in Charlemagne, Quebec. This world famous Canadian singer and songwriter started her career in Francophone, Canada when her manager René Angélil (who later became her husband) mortgaged his home in order to finance her first record. In 1990, Céline Dion released the album “Unison”. This was her first English album, having already released fourteen albums in French. During the 1990s Dion’s career skyrocketed as she achieved worldwide success and fame and by the end of the decade, she was one of the most successful artists in pop music. In 1999 she took a break from the entertainment world to focus her attention on her family.
