VW Auto Pavilion

Located in Uitenhage near Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, the VW Auto Pavilion is promoted as a "Place of Cars and Legends", and visitors to this unique museum will soon come to agree with that description. Certainly no other car has grabbed as much attention as the Volkswagen Beetle, and visitors to the VW Auto Pavilion will have the opportunity to explore the history behind this much loved little car – a history that started in the early 1930s, with more than 20 million being built world-wide before production was stopped in the late 1970s.

The VW Auto Pavilion welcomes more than 2,000 visitors each month, where they can view a huge collection of vehicles, including expertly restored vintage models, through to proto-types and record-breakers . With twenty interactive exhibits and twenty-seven static and graphic displays, there is plenty to keep visitors occupied for hours. Touch monitors, special lighting, audio visual displays and sound create an air of excitement, while brain-teasing auto-related quizzes test the knowledge of participants. All things considered, a visit to Uitenhage‘s VW Auto Pavilion is a fun family outing that all will enjoy.
