This is a breathtaking bike ride with the most spectacular, limitless vistas of the open veld and distant Dome Bergland. The route is flexible and can range from 30km to a good 60km if you take all the veld paths we recommend. A guide is available. Most of the trail follows jeep and cattle tracks, with a few joining sections on tar and gravel. The route takes us from Otters' Haunt, on the North West Province side of the Vaal River, across to Parys and then into the open Free State grasslands. We pass behind Tumahole township and head for the horizon! The riding is easy to moderate, with some tricky paths through long grass (in summer) and muddy sections too. In winter the track is easier to see and it's dry! Call me or email to arrange your trail and think of staying over at our delightful riverside guest house or bush camp. - Graeme, 084 245 2490 [email protected]
