Nelson Mandela – world hero – South Africa House & Trafalgar Square

When Nelson Mandela visited London in 1990 he went to Brixton first and then came back to Trafalgar Square. He came to the square from the far right corner and then walked across to the far left. He entered South Africa House and spoke from the balcony shown. As I stood in the crowd he said he loved me, (well he actually said that he 'loved each and every one of the crowd and wished he could take each one of us back in his pocket.") The crowd cheered and clapped and shouted hurrahs. I was on the balcony of TS and Sam, was in the middle of the square, (it was too crowded to get down to join him).
