Steam train trip to Ladismith, South Africa, in February 1980

This is footage I took of a trip on the Touwsriver-Ladismith railway line in February 1980. The line, which was still steam-hauled, was destroyed in a 100-year flood a year later. Since it left Touwsriver at ~2am, I only got coverage on the Ladismith end of the line. The locomotive was Class 24 #3622. Bear in mind it was taken with a Super 8 camera, so lots of herky-jerkies. Oh to have had my HDV camcorder back then! I took two other trips to Ladismith, which I will also post in the fullness of time.
