Toyota Fortuner Epic for African Heritage Epic
Toyota South Africa is the key sponsor and supporter of the African Heritage Epic, a journey of discovery and digital recording of the World Heritage Sites of Southern Africa in full HIgh Definition. The Toyota Fortuner Epic has been fitted with a long range fuel tank, an additional battery system to aid in the process of providing a constant power supply to all camera and computer equipment, a 60l fridge/freezer combination, Garmin GPS, Aluminium roofrack with roof top tent, awning and a variety of other modifications to ease the deployment on a long journey. The Fortuner has been used extensively during the process of documenting the rugged areas in the Cape Floral Kingdom, which range from the Cederberg, the Table Mountain National Park, de Hoop Nature Reserve, Swartberg Complex and the Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve. "This vehicle has completely taken our breath away by its incredible ease of handling in a variety of terrains that we visit - the design makes for driving in extreme comfort and luxury, as a team with women drivers, these features are truly appreciated" says Marna Cilliers-Hartslief, Director of the African Heritage Epic. With a long road ahead of the team, we are confident in the Fortuner to take us to the extremes of the country borders, the Limpopo river, Kosi Bay and the Richtersveld in the next few weeks.
