Travel – Mar 2010 – Elephants in Southern Africa – Carl W. Farley

We ran into a lot of elephants on our trip to Southern Africa. First, in Kruger National Park, then in the Addo Elephant Park and lastly in Chobe National Park in Botswanna. What a huge, lumbering, shaking animal this beast turns out to be when viewed up close. Thankfully, none of the ones we crossed paths with paid us much attention as they went about their daily business of foraging for food for themselves and their little ones. And, the little ones were the most entertaining of all as they waddled, ran, squealed and generally mucked up the works for their moms. Oh, did I mention the mud???
